Please join fellow outdoor enthusiasts and backcountry recreationists at the Eastern Alaska Range Avalanche Center's 1st Annual Fundraiser on Dec 2 at the Mushers' Hall. EARAC has recently formed to meet the increasing need for avalanche awareness training and weather observations in the Fairbanks and Delta Junction areas. We are raising funds to continue offering awareness training and establish more weather stations in the Eastern Alaska Range in the areas near Summit Lake and Black Rapids glacier. The existing weather stations are mostly at road level. We need stations to assist with observations at higher elevations and over a broader area.
Please forward this e-mail to anyone that recreates in this area or that knows anyone that does. Avalanche accidents have affected so many in our community and we hope to reduce those numbers through observations and education.
