Fairbanks' best opportunity each year to try before you buy!

This Saturday, Novemeber 7 will be the annual Nordic Ski Club of Fairbanks Demo Day at Birch Hill.  Representatives from Fischer, Atomic, Madshus and Rossignol will be on hand to give Fairbanksans the opportunity to try skis, boots, poles and other equipment from their respective companies.  They will be set-up in the stadium at 11 AM and stay there until 3 PM, so stop on by!

Saturday, November 7 at the Student Rec Center on the UAF Campus

Please bring a potluck dessert.  Dinner is free for all members of the
Alaska Nanooks Ski Team Booster Club or the Nordic Ski Club of Fairbanks.

1 ticket for every old cell phone
1 ticket for every used inkjet cartridge (small printer cartridges, not the
big toner cartridges)

The Ski for Women will be this Sunday, April 5 at 12:30 at the Birch Hill cross country ski area.
Registration is 11:00-12:15, entry fee is a donation of any amount to the Interior Center for non-Violent Living.
This is an easy, just for fun 1 or 3 k ski to encourage women of all abilities to come out and ski.  Children are welcome, and costumes are encouraged.
There will be a potluck and door prizes following the ski.
Fred Raymond of Raven Cross Country has once again generously donated a pair of skis, and everyone who enters gets a ticket for the drawing for the skis, and if you enter with a friend (or relative) you will receive an extra ticket for the ski drawing.
Free ski waxing for participants on a first come, first served basis from 10:30-11:45.

The NSCF has replaced the annual Trails Day with an Adopt-a-Trail program.

The NCSF Weather Page has a new look. The Birch Hill weather station has been upgraded during the month of December with several new features.

The weather station temperature sensor is back online.

Look for upgrades to the anemometer, snow temperature, and humidity sensor to come soon.

The Birch Hill Weather Station web page is temporarily unavailable.

Please do not call the Birch Hill Recreation Area Nordic Ski Center for weather information, as they also rely on the website for current temperature data.

The Nordic Ski Club has purchased new equipment and software to repair and upgrade the weather station. The new station equiment is scheduled for installation the week of December 10-16.

The 2007 Ski Fest will be held at the University of Alaska Fairbanks Student Recreation Center (SRC) Friday, November 9. Doors open at 5:30 pm. Dinner begins at 6:30 pm. Program and Raffle at 7:30 pm.

The West Valley Cross Country Ski Team will be holding their annual SKI SWAP on Saturday, October 20th, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. 

The Nordic Ski Club of Fairbanks' junior training and racing program, FXC (Fairbanks Cross Country) is ready to begin its second year of operation.
